Lie On is one of those songs that started with Casey and an acoustic guitar. It's a duet, and Casey brilliantly envisioned, heard, and constructed both parts of the conversation. When the band finished the arrangement of the song, it was then time to go in search of a female vocalist to put the icing on the cake.
We'll take a pause from the storyline here to give a big THANK YOU to everyone who gave us their time and their awesome talents laying down the female vocals on this one. We appreciate all of you.
Enter, Lora Dale.
It was in late 2024 when we received two versions of Lie On with Lora Dale's vocals on them. The first version, she stuck to the notes we had provided and it sounded awesome! We were already excited for what we had just heard…and then we played version 2. Now, on version 2 we had asked Lora to just “go for it” and by the time we got to the end, we were all lying prone on the floor in the studio because she had just knocked us the F*** out! We knew right away it was the version we had to release.
There is also no way this song happens without Andy Reed from Reed Recording Company! Andy not only mixed and mastered the track, he's the one who brought Lora into the project. We can't thank Andy enough for helping out this little ol' band from Arizona. Cheers, mate! 🤘🏽😎
